About
Berber is a dedicated practitioner and teacher, trained in Iyengar Yoga and Zhan Zhuang Qi Gong, and is currently exploring Shaolin practices. She brings a creative approach to teaching, weaving together diverse themes and techniques to inspire one’s own nomadic ability to move, sense, and respond freely to life. In addition to weekly studio classes and workshops, Berber also offers Qi Gong training in nature, particularly in the forest, embracing its profound mental and physical health benefits.
Background
Berber began practicing yoga in natural surroundings while traveling through Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, and Tibet in 1996. After completing her teacher training at the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Institute in Amsterdam, she founded Iyengar Yoga Studio Groningen in 2001. Her ongoing studies included a decade of individual work with Iyengar yoga teacher Anja Reuffel, as well as classes at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India. In 2010, Berber was introduced to Zhan Zhuang Qi Gong, initially training with Peter den Dekker, author of The Dynamics of Standing Still, and later engaging in further study with Raquel Jesus. By 2016, her studio had evolved into a school for both yoga and Qi Gong.
